About Vestre Aker Musikkorps

Vestre Aker Musikkorps (VAM for short) is a concert band. We are currently about 50 musicians. We have belonged among the top wind bands in Norway for years, and our outspoken ambition is for this to remain so. We hold approximately 10 concerts a year, with a repertoire ranging from works found in Norwegian and international wind band tradition, modern wind band music and orchestral works to light music and film music.

We are always eager to welcome new musicians to come and play with us. We welcome students of music as well as accomplished amateurs and others. There are no auditions, because during the first few months of playing together we, and you, will usually find out whether you fit in the ensemble. If so, full membership will normally be granted. If you are interested, you are welcome to contact us.
